About the Speaker
Deepthi Harkar, MS, RDN, LDN
Deepthi Harkar is a highly skilled and accomplished Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with over two decade of experience in clinical nutrition, research, community health initiatives, and program management. She has a proven track record of successfully leading and managing health and behavior change programs targeted at high-risk populations. Deepthi specializes in nutrition program management, chronic disease management, and behavior modification, with a particular focus on bariatric care and plant-based nutrition.
Deepthi Harkar holds a Master’s degree in Nutrition from TJTSAU and earned a second Master’s in Health Promotion from the United States. She has worked as a Clinical and Bariatric Dietitian at St. Francis Hospital in Delaware, New Jersey, and as a Research Assistant with the USDA in Washington, DC. In Maryland, she served as a Community Nutritionist for the WIC Nutrition Program and as a Long Term Care Dietitian for a geriatric care facility. Additionally, Deepthi worked as a Wellness Consultant and Medical Nutrition Program Manager for Highmark Health and AmeriHealth in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She also served as President of a state dietitian organization, leading the team with distinction.
Deepthi excels in driving measurable health outcomes, program management, and capacity building, and is adept in data analysis, dashboard creation, and the management of community-based and clinical health programs. As a skilled public speaker and tech-savvy professional, she has presented health outcomes to internal and external audiences, and is committed to fostering positive behavior change through evidence-based practices.
